According to The Global Foodbanking Network, data shown that 1 in 4 people in the world are malnourished. In most countries, 1 in 10 people are food insecure.
To celebrate World Food Day 2019, we partnered with The Food Bank Singapore (FBSG), purchased multiple Bank Boxes and food bundles to help collects excess food and re-distributed them to those in need. Bank Boxes were deployed in crowded areas such as schools, corporations and other event locations for people to donate excess food; Food bundles were delivered directly to local Singaporeans.
A total of 20 Large Bank Boxes have been deployed at JTC Corporation, White Case Roadshow, Eco Fair at Singapore Institute of Management and Clean & Green event with National Environment Agency; 300 Healthier Food Bundles have been distributed by FBSG staffs and US Navy team to those in urgent need of food.
We hopes to raise awareness of the problem of food waste, and encourage people to take part in helping to end hunger.
