The Russia-Ukraine war has been raging for five months since the launch on 24 February 2022. When will it end? With dozens dead and injured in the conflict, the world is asking for the answer.
In TGB Charity, we believe that war is never a solution. In fact, not long before the official start of the war, there was an intense video entitled “Everyone deserves a future”, released by Emergency, an Italian NGO that provides free, high-quality healthcare to victims of war. It is a very short film to appeal to people: “Let’s make 2022 a year of peace, not war.”
This film shows the consequences of war through the eyes of those who experienced it. It centers on the tough choices facing a mother living in a country hit by war. The story begins just like any other day, with a girl getting ready to go to school, but finishes with an unexpected ending: a painful separation, just like the ones that many people around the world are forced to experience every day due to violence and war.
82.4 million people worldwide had to leave their homes, families and lives, due to persecution, war, violence, or human rights violations. The video is a strong reminder that millions of people around the world are in desperate need of our attention and our assistance.
Everyone deserves a future. Then, what kind of future would you love? TGB Charity has brought this question to everyone in the campaign “The Future You’d Love” in April 2022. People answered in their own different way.
