TGB Charity believes that desserts could be salvation! Research has shown that desserts help satisfy your cravings and inspire you to be active, and now there are more reasons for you to be guilt-free for having sweets- desserts are also part of sustainability!

Here, TGB Charity would like to introduce 3 influential dessert brands who take action for the environment and our human society.

Tony's Chocolonely

Tony's Chocolonely has been fighting for slave-free chocolate for the last 13 years. The supply chain in the chocolate industry starts with the millions of farmers that produce cocoa and ends with the billions of consumers that enjoy chocolate. But this section is dominated by a group of chocolate giants that profit from keeping the cocoa purchasing price as low as possible. For the farmers, this creates a poverty trap that leads to illegal child labor and modern slavery.

The mission of Tony's is to make 100% slave free the norm in chocolate. They have created a roadmap that consists of three pillars: creating awareness, leading by example, and inspiring to act. By following Tony's recipe for slave free cocoa, it's possible to make slave free chocolate and still be commercially successful.

Besides, to remind the consumers that the profits in the chocolate industry are unfairly divided, Tony's 6oz bars are chunked in unevenly sizes.

Jude’s Ice Cream

As a certified B Corp, Jude's is Britain's first carbon negative ice cream company, removing up to 10% more CO2e from the atmosphere than it emits.

Jude’s has teamed up with Professor Mike Berners-Lee, one of the world's leading experts in carbon foot printing to make sure that Jude's is reducing carbon intensity as fast as possible. For example, their logistics team is now even more efficient in terms of routes and fill loads. Also, they replaced plastic spoons in 100ml tubs with FSC certified wooden spoons, saving 3.3 tons of plastic. Jude’s has a target of a 43% reduction by 2030 from their 2020 base, and have achieved a 20% reduction so far.

Besides, Jude’s runs educational programs with local schools, supports community events and has donated over £250,000 to charities that do amazing work, primarily with a focus on children and young people.

Mademoiselle Desserts

Mademoiselle Desserts strives to be the benchmark for bakery products for trade, and they obtained B Corp certification in April 2022. They supply some of the major players in coffee shops, restaurants, retail and out-of-home catering, both in the UK and abroad.

Their CLEAN M program ensures they create desserts that reflect the values of great taste and corporate responsibility.
